Tonja Myles - Set Free Indeed Ministry
Today’s episode is going to be a bit more serious than usual. We’ll be discussing a topic that most people, frankly, find hard to talk about. But that silence only allows the problem to grow, so we’re here to shine some light directly on it and to talk with someone who has devoted her life to bringing hope and resources to those impacted by it.
I’m talking about drug addiction and, more specifically, fentanyl. In communities across our country, people young and old and from all socio-economic backgrounds are dying from fentanyl overdoses. Because it is laced into so many different drugs, many people who died were not even aware that they were taking it.
Community Activist Tonja Myles has spent 20 years supporting those with mental health needs, substance abuse issues, and untreated trauma. She’s here today to talk about what her organization, Set Free Indeed Ministry, is doing to address not just the fentanyl abuse, but also the despair that so often causes people to turn to drugs in the first place.
